Three ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY seniors saw a need in the community and rose to the challenge in a creative and meaningful way. With the entire state of Hawai’i staying at home in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were inspired to help others spend their time creatively, so they created the Quarantine Art Club – a website with free, original coloring pages they create for anyone to download and enjoy.
Grade 4 students had a day of enhancing knowledge, lā hoʻonui ʻike, as part of their unit of inquiry on Hawaiian history and culture. The special event was an opportunity for students to connect theory to practice, and also provided the opportunity for Grade 4 families to join in the learning experience with their children. The result was a wonderful family evening of sharing, learning, community, and connection.
Grade 2 students and the residents of ‘Ilima at Leihano are developing wonderful intergenerational friendships with their many visits to the residences throughout the year.
IPA honored members of the Headmaster’s Circle and above for their leadership in giving at a special reception held at the Pacific Club. Mahalo to our generous Annual Fund supporters for helping IPA fulfill its mission to unlock the potential of each generation, one student at a time!
IPA’s Secondary Arts were on display at the annual Hoʻike Night on December 6, 2019. It was an evening showcasing the creative artwork and music of our IPA secondary students.
