ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY’s Board of Trustees was pleased to welcome Jeffrey Swartz to the board. Swartz brings his unique perspective and ideas as a CEO, a board member of several community organizations, and an IPA parent to the school and will work to help IPA fulfill its mission to empower students to become navigators of change in a place where values matter.
Jeff Swartz, Trustee
Jeff Swartz is the CEO of The Islander Group, a wholesale distribution and manufacturing company of 225 full-time employees, with offices in Hawaiʻi, Guam, Saipan and the Philippines. He started with the company in 1993.
Swartz has been a member of the Young Presidents organization since 1999 and served on their board for six years. In 1999, he became a volunteer mediator for the Mediation Center of the Pacific and served six years as a board member. Swartz also served as a board member for the Hawaiʻi Book and Music Festival, the Hawaiʻi Book Publishers Association, and Kamp Hawaiʻi (Kids at Risk Mentoring Program). He currently serves as a board member for the Chamber of Commerce of Honolulu, as well as Hawaiʻi National Mortgage and Finance.
Swartz grew up in Spokane, Washington and moved to Hawaiʻi in 1986. He is married to Jessica and their two daughters attend Island Pacific Academy (Sierra ‘22, Silvana ‘25). In his spare time he enjoys traveling, tennis and reading.
