IPA Families Welcomed Back on Campus for Hoʻike Night

ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY was thrilled to invite families back to campus for Hoʻike Night: A Celebration of Secondary Arts after last year’s hiatus. The annual event is organized by the Secondary Art department to celebrate the creativity of IPA’s secondary students and highlight the importance of the arts program in the Secondary curriculum.

The Arts and Social-Emotional Health During the Pandemic

For many students, the anxiety, isolation, and social-emotional distress they faced over the past year has hit hard. Creating art provides opportunities for student expression and outlets for difficult feelings. It gives them a medium to reflect and make sense of what is happening. IPA students have had music, visual arts, and theatre – and the support of their teachers – to help them cope with the pandemic.

Three IPA Seniors Awarded Silver Key at Hawai’i Regional Scholastic Art Awards

Three DP Art seniors were recognized for excellence at the 2021 Hawai’i Regional Scholastic Art Awards on January 28, 2021. Awarded the Silver Key were Grace Gehrich, Sophia Holmen, and Laney Tapia. Gehrich and Holmen were also recognized with Honorable Mentions along with seniors Amara Kennedy, Breana Alexander-Higa, and Kaitlyn Taaca.
