Biography
Ei Nei
Ei Nei
Hui! Ei Nei is composed of Dane Fujiwara (Wailuku), Grant Kono (Oneawa), and Ekolu Chang (Kāne`ohe). After having been on their own paths as musicians for some time with various individual accolades, Ei Nei began their musical journey together in 2016.
In 2017, this new trio captured the title at the Made in Hawai‘i Kani Ka Pila Grille Talent Search. At the end of 2019, Ei Nei released their debut album Hui! debuting #1 on the iTunes World Chart.
In 2020, they garnered several Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award nominations and won the 2020 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award as the MOST PROMISING ARTIST.
Their 2021 release of Dear Lāna‘i was recently nominated for Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award for Single of the Year. Together, they feature a smooth vocal blend with rich harmonies and a refreshing glimpse into the traditional past with their sights set on the future of Hawaiian music.

Keilana
Keilana is an award-winning musician, artist, and songwriter with over 10 years of experience in the music industry. Growing up in paradise really allowed her to flourish and nurture her passion for music, being constantly inspired by the beauty and aloha all around her. She’s done everything– from working as nightly gigging musician, to doing session work and bgvs for big stars, writing and producing songs for film/tv, live sound set up and production, to finally owning her artistry by writing, recording, and performing her own original work. Her mission is to share her music and story with the world, inspire the next generation of young voices, and to see just how far an island girl can go when she follows her dreams.

“We are a 9 piece vintage soul band, doing it in the original style before Motown. It was at the cusp of original R&B from the 50’s mixed with the Jazz and Gospel that Soul music was born. That’s the era that we are focusing on — the origin, the source. To me, it’s a more driving sound, more raw, more gritty, so real and honest. I guarantee that most people have never heard of Bettye Lavette, Jean Wells, Ricky Allen, Freddie Scott, et al. But, we are also looking to modern bands that play in that style (Vintage Soul) as well like Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Lee Fields and The Expressions, Saunn & Starr…. These bands provide the bridge from the original artists to the modern day.
