Ua Ao Hawai’i Raises $150,000 and Illuminates the Power of Kindness, Generosity, and Excellence

In a dazzling display of community spirit, Island Pacific Academy’s spectacular fundraising gala, Ua Ao Hawaiʻi, lived up to its theme of “Brightness Approaches,” raising more than $150,000 for student programs. The event, held on November 11, 2023 at the Four Seasons Resort Oʻahu at Ko Olina, not only lit up the night but also illuminated the incredible generosity and kindness that reside within our community.

The evening kicked off with a highly successful silent auction, where guests had the opportunity to bid on a myriad of items generously donated by local businesses and supporters. The silent auction turned out to be a beacon of success, raising substantial funds to support IPA’s various educational initiatives and student programs.

Adding an extra layer of brilliance to the evening were three remarkable individuals who embody IPA’s core values of power of human kindness, generosity of spirit, and commitment to excellence. The gala celebrated Laura Angel Guzman, Karen Chun (in memoriam), and the Onaga family, shining a spotlight on their outstanding contributions to our families and community. Their stories served as an inspiration to all, reinforcing the importance of living a life guided by kindness, compassion, and excellence.

The highlight of the night was the heartwarming success of the “Fund a Need” campaign, where the generosity of attendees truly shone through. The community rallied together and raised their paddles, contributing generously to support our Navigators through our Tuition Aid Program. The success of this campaign not only highlighted our generous sponsors’ and attendees’ commitment to the school’s mission but also ensured a brighter future for all our students.

Island Pacific Academy shares our heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors, guests, donors, and volunteers who made the event such a success for our students. Their unwavering support and commitment to IPA showcased the strength of our community and its shared dedication to providing an exceptional education.

The Ua Ao Hawaiʻi gala was not just a fundraising event – it was a celebration of the values that make Island Pacific Academy a beacon of excellence. The evening cast a brilliant light on IPA’s future and ensured that the spirit of human kindness and generosity continue to shine within our community.
