Mahalo to presenting sponsor First Hawaiian Bank and the many generous sponsors who joined us on May 7, 2021 for the 13th Annual ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY Golf Tournament at Hawaiʻi Prince Golf Club to make it a huge success! For the second year in a row, the golf tournament sold out with a full field of 160 golfers. Led by tournament committee chairs Lance Wilhelm, Gregg Kodama, Melanie Kim, and Cheryl Walthall, this year’s tournament raised a grand total of $88,898 in support of IPA’s Tuition Aid program!
Golfers had some fun competition with the pre-tournament putting contest, shoot-out, and on-course activities. And they were kept hydrated and satiated with the many hospitality stations out the course – including Kapakahi Grindz, Teriyaki Madness, 808 Holes, Sansei Seafood, and Alejandros. IPA’s Alumni and Parent-Teacher associations were also on hand to serve the golfers and cheer them on.
As is tradition at IPA’s golf tournament, the usual top place finishers were recognized with outstanding prizes, as well as the teams who came in 13th (representing the 13th tournament) and last places. Congratulations to the winning team from KSF, Inc.! Their names will be added to the IPA Golf Tournament perpetual trophy. Finishing second and third were the teams from LifeVantage and AMSCO. Our lucky 13th place winner was Sween Optometry, led by an IPA parent.
The tournament was followed by a grab-and-go bento dinner and distribution of many fabulous prizes, including a two-night stay at the beautiful Mauna Lani Resort, two nights at the Ritz-Carlton Waikīkī, rounds of golf at Ko Olina Golf Course, Bose speakers, a 55” Samsung LCD TV, and custom stainless steel hibachis.
