Precision Air Riflery
About the Program
Precision Air Riflery is unique in several ways. First, it is the only co-ed sport that ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY hosts; males and females compete side by side as one team. Second, Precision Air Riflery is not recognized as an official HHSAA sport. This is because not enough of the leagues within the state of Hawaiʻi participate. This means that there is no competition after the league championships.
Precision Air Riflery differs from Sporter Air Riflery in that shooters only fire from a standing position, and they are allowed to wear and use specialized equipment to help them. It is not uncommon to see a shooter wearing an eye cover, gloves, shooting jacket, shooting pants, and boots. IPA shooters also have a dedicated rifle for each discipline.
