Middle 6-8

Welcome To The Middle School Grades 6-8

At ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY, we support the development of the whole child – academically, socially, physically and emotionally – during what is often the most challenging time of their educational journey, the Middle School years. During this developmental stage encompassing puberty and pre-adolescence, students undergo rapid and significant changes in their physical and emotional growth and maturity. Despite the challenges, this time of growth also provides students many opportunities for self-discovery and maximizing potential, as they take risks and try new things. The Middle School faculty respects and honors our students’ emerging identities and facilitates this by helping to support them as they navigate these new experiences.

Middle School students participate not only in core academic subjects like language arts, math, science, humanities, and foreign languages, but also to music, art, theater, technology and P.E. They also become part of the Pu’uhonua Program, our Secondary advisory program, that provides the social and emotional support that is a critical component of academic success and emotional well-being. Throughout the inevitable challenges and struggles our middle school students will experience, our faculty is always there to provide support and guidance as they develop the academic tools, resilience, and independence they will need in preparation for the Upper School and beyond.
