After School Enrichment Program

After School Enrichment (ASE) courses are the perfect way for students to learn a new skill, dive deeper into an area of interest, or challenge themselves by exploring a subject outside their “comfort zone.”

Fun and interesting activities in each course encourage students to use and build upon their growing knowledge base. Students can select one or more courses to create a schedule that suits their needs and fulfills their passion for learning.

Spring 2026

We are excited to offer a variety of enrichment classes after school. To register, please use our new CAMPBRAIN platform. If you already have an account, simply log in and select “Spring Enrichment 2026” to see the available classes for the spring.

Please note that payment plans are available for Enrichment classes, and refunds cannot be issued after payment is made. Registration opens on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, and closes on Friday, January 9, 2026.

We will be offering an Extended Day discount this year. If your student is in Extended Day for the school year, they will get 10% off any IPA classes (this does not include Robotics or Karate). When signing up for classes please email Ms. Katie and she will apply the discount.

There is a limited number of spaces in each class. Enrollment is done on a first come, first served basis. Classes will automatically close when the class is full.
 
Classes are not scheduled during school holidays, breaks, early dismissal days or parent teacher conferences.
 
Karate is not included on CAMPBRAIN. You must register with Sensei Billy directly for those classes. Please follow the contact information below the class description to register.
 
Robotics is not included on CAMPBRAIN. You must register with Ms. Loke directly. Please follow the contact information below the class description to register.

Story Art (Grades 1-2)

Exciting opportunity for young artists! Our art class for grades 1 & 2 combines reading and drawing to foster creativity and critical thinking. By engaging in storytelling and artistic expression, students enhance their skills in a fun and interactive way.



eSports (Grades 4-8)

Ignite your child’s passion for gaming! Our after-school program introduces 4th-8th graders to the dynamic world of esports. We teach the fundamentals of competitive gaming and utilize a cutting-edge training platform to help students develop strategy, teamwork, and skills in a fun, safe, and educational environment.



DJ Basics (Grades 4-8)

Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

This class offers students an exciting introduction to the world of DJ’ing, where they’ll learn the essential skills needed to start their journey as a DJ. The course covers the basics of mixing, beat matching, and understanding different music genres, giving students a solid foundation in the art of DJ’ing.

Through a combination of hands-on activities and interactive lessons, students will explore the techniques DJs use to create seamless music mixes and perform live. Whether they’re interested in creating their own playlists or performing for an audience,this class will equip them with the foundational knowledge and skills to start their DJ journey with confidence.



Mandarin (Grade K)

Join the Learn & Plan Mandarin Enrichment Program, which focuses on food and fruits. This interactive program is specifically designed for kindergarten children to expand their
vocabulary and cultural understanding through play, music, and art activities. Participants will learn to identify, name, and describe a wide variety of foods and fruits in Mandarin. The curriculum incorporates engaging, multi-sensory activities to reinforce vocabulary acquisition.



3D Printing and Design (Grades 9-12)

Time: 3:15 PM – 4:15 PM
Location: Secondary Room 313
Instructor: Mr. Ongjoco

This class gives students a deeper look into the fundamentals of modern 3-D printing technology. Participants will examine how printers operate, compare filament types, and learn to use slicing software to optimize prints. They will explore reputable online model libraries and develop skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), moving from basic modeling to more advanced design techniques appropriate for high school learners. Students will apply their knowledge by designing and printing their own custom 3-D creations.

**Students will need their school issued Laptop.



Keyboard Ensemble (Grades 2-5)

Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Students will be introduced to basic keyboard skills (ear training, note reading, rhythm, and theory.) Students will need at least a 60+, Full-sized keys keyboard (each key is the same size as the standard, acoustic piano key). Students will be asked to purchase a lesson and theory book. This program is designed to be in a group setting and ensemble performance which is ongoing and for beginners.



Karate (Grades K-5)

Come study the traditional Japanese Karate. In forms (kata), kumite (sparring and fighting skills) & kubodo (weaponry katas). Also development in body coordination, balance, stamina and overall good health for the mind and body. With the goal of development of self-discipline & respect. Classes are designed to let each child develop at their own pace, but with encouragement to strive to do their best. No experience needed to join.

MMA Fit (Grades K-8)

Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Instructors: Mr. Hata

Mixed Martial Arts Fitness will be a focus on physical exercises that implement different martial arts movements (e.g., punching, kicking, footwork, calisthenics). Along with the physical development aspect, students will gain knowledge and exposure to different types of cultures and traditional practices involving specific styles. The program does not include physical contact between students. No sparring is allowed in class. Mr. Hata has been practicing MMA techniques since 2005 and he is very excited to share his passion and skills with the students at IPA!

Please have a change of clothes so your child can be in comfortable clothes and tennis shoes during class.

**Students will need to purchase 8oz boxing gloves.



Intermediate Robotics (Grades 4-6)

In this Intermediate VEX GO Robotics section, students who have already completed at least one robotics enrichment class will return to continue building their engineering and coding skills.

Working in teams of three, students will build robots that utilize all of the VEX GO sensors,including the eye sensor to detect different colors and the electromagnetic sensor to pick up disks. Students will also learn how to design and attach manipulators like claws to their robots.

We will finish the semester with the Robolympics, a series of competition challenges designed to give teams a chance to showcase their innovative problem solving and design mastery.



Writer’s Workshop Mrs. Sa’o (Grades 3-4)

This low-cost small-group Writer’s Workshop is designed for 3rd and 4th-graders who would benefit from additional support in writing. Students will participate in hands-on activities that help them generate ideas, organize their thoughts, strengthen word choice, and use spelling and editing tools. The workshop meets every Tuesday and Thursday from January 20 to April 17, 2026. Enrollment is based on need and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is
limited to 12 students.



Hula (Grades K-5)

Instructor: Kumu Nanea

We are thrilled to welcome Kumu Nanea as our new hula teacher! Kumu Nanea comes to us from the Hālau ‘o Hokulani, where she has been a dedicated hula dancer. She has experience supporting her Kumu and managing her own classes, and she is eager to bring her expertise and deep love for hula to our community.

This class is a wonderful introduction to the beauty of Hawaiian culture through the art of hula. Students will learn the basic steps and hand movements that are essential to telling stories through dance. With simple routines, this class focuses on building coordination, rhythm, and confidence in a fun and nurturing setting. Join us to explore the dance and feel the spirit of aloha!



College Essay Prep (Grades 9-12)

Learn how to master the narrative required for successful college applications and scholarships. This focused, weekly workshop will guide 9th through 11th graders through the foundational structure of the Common Application core essay and teach them how to add their own personal flair. This will be a hands-on workshop, with technology used only at the very end. The aim is to foster the critical self-reflection necessary to transform personal experiences into compelling essays. Students will learn how to identify their unique stories, articulate purpose, and revise for clarity, ensuring their final submission stands out to admissions officers.

Spanish Navigator Lab (Grades K-5)

Spanish Navigators Lab is a fun and welcoming beginner-level class designed for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Children build confidence as they practice listening, speaking,
reading, and writing in Spanish while learning simple grammar and everyday vocabulary like greetings, family words, and common school items. Each lesson includes engaging books, online games, and hands-on activities that make learning enjoyable. Students also explore the rich traditions, stories, and music of Spanish-speaking countries, helping them develop cultural appreciation as they grow their language skills.



ECHO Explorers (Grades 3-6)

Crafty Kids (Grades K-1)

Choir (Grades K-5)

Do you love to sing? Discover the joy of singing with our children’s choir. We enjoy singing two-part songs and sharing our love of music. Singing improves musical skills (pitch, rhythm, harmony), choreography, discipline, self-confidence, and public speaking abilities. There will be opportunities to build solo and emcee skills. Don’t miss out on the chance to come and have fun making music together.

Fine Art Fundamental (Grades 6-8)

Are you ready to move beyond doodling and start creating like a pro? This class is designed for the focused middle school artist who wants to master the “secrets” of realistic drawing and painting. We bridge the gap between elementary crafts and high-school-level fine art.

In a relaxed but focused studio environment, students will learn that artistic talent isn’t just magic—it’s a set of skills that anyone can learn. We will swap basic supplies for professional-grade graphite, charcoal, and tempera to create work that is truly frame-worthy.

Filipino Culture and Dance (Grades 9-12)

In this dynamic cultural enrichment class, students will explore the foundations of language, history, and Filipino traditions. Over the first weeks, they’ll learn how to greet and introduce
themselves, discover world geography and different languages, and dive into cultural history and food. The second half of the program focuses on movement and tradition as students practice Eskrima (Filipino martial arts) and learn both modern and traditional Tinikling dancing. This engaging, active class builds global awareness, cultural appreciation, and confidence.

Creative Drama (Grades K-2)

3D Printing and Design (Grades 4-8)

Ceramics (Grades 3-5)

Experience the magic of the clay! In this hands-on class, we explore the hand building techniques of coil, pinch, and slab, abstract work; various textured applications in exciting projects that nurture children’s creativity; and wheel throwing. Each week, students will create pieces in three dimensional arts, such as animals, masks and more! These projects make great bases for children’s personal visions and allow them to play with art concepts including symmetry, texture and patterns. Working with clay helps children develop coordination and concentration while teaching them how to transform ideas into creative expressions. As the class proceeds they will be gaining knowledge about ceramic materials, glazes and firings.
