Happy Fourth of July from IPA

IPA wishes everyone in our Ohana (parents, students, relatives, friends and neighbors) a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend.  The campus will be closed on Friday, July 3; summer enrichment and activities will start again on Monday, July 6.  Office hours during the summer are 8:00am to 3:00pm.

Patriotic IPA tidbits:

·Secondary Principal, Mrs. Kip Cummings, earned her U.S. citizenship this spring.  This will be her first 4th of July holiday as an American citizen. (She has dual citizenship.),

· Akiko Taira, Japanese instructor in the Secondary division, was born on July 2nd.  July 2nd 1776, is the date on which the Continental Congress voted in favor of Virginia delegate Richard Henry Lee’s resolution for independence.

· Nearly 60 IPA students and faculty/staff have July birthdays.  One student was born on July 4th: Happy Birthday to Lam Black (’19).

· Steven Cleveland, new Humanities teacher for the Middle Years Programme (MYP), is a U.S. Constitution expert and enjoys sharing that knowledge with his students.  His son, Steven (’19), was born in July.
