These students represented ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY well by greeting and assisting over 1,000 prospective job applicants from the Leeward areas.  The primary focus of this event was to partner with Kapolei businesses and to also help alleviate commute times for Leeward residents who currently work in town.  “This rally was a successful event!  It was the best in attendance to date!” stated Kiran Polk, Executive Director of Kapolei Chamber of Commerce.  Approximately 80 Leeward businesses were able to provide nearly 1,000 career opportunities.   Island Pacific Academy’s, Alyanna DeVera (IPA ’20), also participated in the event as an attendee in hopes to find a successful summer occupation!

Katherine Davenport, Director of Community Affairs from the Office of Councilmember, Kymberly Marcos-Pine stated “this event had the opportunity to change lives- giving people jobs where they live, and also cutting down on commuting times.”  ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY Secondary Principal, Kip Cummings, also volunteered at the event and beamed with pride as she shared “This event was a great opportunity for our students to obtain firsthand knowledge about career opportunities, the job application process and will certainly be able to apply it to their future.”

We are so proud of our ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY students for dedicating their time and honoring their commitments to making their community a better place.  As part of Island Pacific Academy’s curriculum, students are expected to engage in service and get involved in local community events and charities. Thank you to all of you who continue to uphold the integrity of ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY as you impact lives in a big way through your volunteering services!
