Double Win at the 2014-2015 HMSA Kaimana Awards

Congratulations to Kimberly Uehisa (‘15) and Island Pacific Academy. Both Ueshisa and IPA were recognized Saturday, June 13, at the 2014-2015 HMSA Kaimana Awards & Scholarship Program luncheon. Uehisa won one of 15 statewide $5,000 scholarships awarded to “Inspirational students who have impacted others through athletic participation, sportsmanship, academic success, and service to their communities.” Uehisa was selected from a pool of over 400 applicants statewide and is the first Island Pacific Academy student to win this award.

In addition to Uehisa’s honor, Island Pacific Academy also won the Kaimana Award for Schools in the small school category. The award is based on “Excellence in academics, athletics, community service, healthy activities, and sportsmanship.” Out of the nine awardees only two were ILH schools and only four were on Oahu.
