New Families Welcomed at IPA’s 2024 New Parent Reception

Last Friday, July 26, ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY hosted a welcome reception for our new parents at the 2024 New Parent Reception. The reception served as a warm welcome for new families to the IPA community, even before their children embark on their educational journey as Navigators.

Hosted by the Admissions department, the annual reception is a special occasion where new parents can meet the administrators and staff who will be pivotal in their children’s academic and personal development at IPA. The parents heard inspiring messages from Head of School Gerald Teramae, Elementary Principal Sa’o Faulkner, Secondary Principal Steve Ross, and IPAPA secretary Alissa McKinley.

“We strive to make our new parents feel like a valued part of the Navigator ʻohana, emphasizing their importance to the IPA community,” said Jennifer Banquil, Director of Admissions. “Throughout the admissions process, I personally connect with these families, and it’s heartwarming to see them come together, forming bonds as they embark on their journey at IPA. We are eager to welcome our new students to campus in a few weeks.”

After the brief program, parents enjoyed the chance to connect with fellow new parents over a casual dinner buffet on the lanai. It was a wonderful summer evening of engaging conversations and a shared sense of community as parents came together in true Navigator spirit, getting to know each other as they begin their families’ journeys at IPA.
