IPA Warmly Welcomes New Parents to the Navigator ʻOhana

ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY hosted a warm evening reception for more than 140 new parents at the 2022 New Parent Reception held on July 29. The annual event is a wonderful way to welcome new families to the IPA community even before their child’s first day at IPA.

Organized by the Admission department, the special reception provides parents the opportunity to meet administrators, faculty, and staff who will be interacting with their children throughout their educational journey at IPA. The evening included messages from Head of School Gerald Teramae, Elementary Principal Samantha Hodes-Der, and Secondary Principal Gail Vannatta.

Following the brief program, parents got to meet and socialize with other new parents over a bento dinner on the lanai. The evening was filled with wonderful conversation and good food as parents, staff, and faculty came together in true Navigator fashion.

“We want our new parents to feel welcomed in the Navigator ʻohana and let them know that they are an important part of our IPA community,” shared Eileen Novak, Director of Admission. “I get to know these families personally throughout the admission process, and it’s so nice to see them all together, getting to know each other as they start their journey at IPA. We’re looking forward to having our new students join us on campus in a few weeks.”
