Get Geared Up For The First Day of School

July is the time to watch for sales as many stores begin to put supplies on sale in anticipation of the new school year.

Supply lists for all students are contained in the Back to School email packets sent to all families late June.  Lists are also available here on the website:

In many cases an item from last year can be used again this year as long as it is in good or hardly used condition  (e.g. water bottles, scissors, calculators, protractors, compass, pencil boxes, etc.).

Helpful Tips:

  • Check batteries in calculators and replace them with new ones just before school starts.
  • Use a backpack or large box as a place to store school supplies as they are collected and checked off the list.
  •  Remember that many supplies such as notebook paper, markers, pens and pencils will need to be replenished during the school year as they are depleted.
  •  Have all items available to your student on the First Day of School to avoid stress.
  • Primary students are encouraged to bring their supplies on Meet & Greet day to load into their classrooms, desks, and lockers (grades 4 and 5).

Reminders:

  • All families should order uniforms from Kula Threads.  www.kulathreads.com
  •  Secondary families should refer to MBS Direct for the most up to date book lists and one-stop shopping. www.MBSDirect.net
  • Class of 2016 students should schedule their appointment for Senior Portraits with House of Photography.  www.HouseofPhoto.com
