IPA Gives Back Day: Cultivating Generosity of Spirit

IPA Gives Back Day is an Island Pacific Academy tradition for our Secondary students that embodies the core values of generosity of spirit and community service. From the lush taro patches to the sandy beaches and mountain watersheds, Navigators in Grades 6-12 journeyed to various community organizations across Oʻahu to spend the day working hard in their mission to make a difference. As with past events, this year’s IPA Gives Back Day on October 13, was filled with a diverse range of activities, reflecting a deep commitment to giving back to our community.

Some students ventured into the lo’i patches and others worked in the greenhouses at Mari’s Garden, while one group helped beautify the grounds at Hawaiian Railway and another cleaned the beach at Waimanalo through our partnerships with at Papahana Kualoa, Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi, Hawaiian Railway, Sustainable Coastlines, and others.

IPA Gives Back Day serves as a powerful educational experience, instilling in students the values of community responsibility and the significance of their collective impact. It leaves a lasting impression emphasizing that community truly counts, and instills important values in the hearts of our future leaders.
