Good luck to the IPA Navigator Robotics team who will be traveling to Louisville, Kentucky during the week of April 18 to April 22 to compete in the 2016 VEX IQ World Championships. IPA will be competing with the most robots from a single institution in the entire world!! Our students will be representing our school and state with these robots in this world level competition. Teams from China, Japan, Korea, England, Mexico and the United States are just a sample of the countries that will be represented at this competition.
Beginning Wednesday, April 20 competitors will check in, robots will be inspected and competitors have the opportunity to practice skills. Skills challenge rounds begin in late afternoon and run until 7:00 p.m. Competitors have the morning of Thursday April 21st to continue practicing with skills challenges and practice matches. After lunch and the opening ceremony, which includes a “parade of nations”; competition begins with qualifying matches. Skills challenges and qualifying matches continue through Saturday morning. By noon, when the competitors break for lunch, the list of competitors will have been whittled down to the finalists. Saturday afternoon brings the final rounds of competition and ultimately, the crowning of the world champions!
