IPA VEX IQ ROBOTICS WIN 6 AWARDS

Island Pacific Academy’s Navigator Robotics teams were on Maui this past weekend for the 2015 aio Maui County Fair VEX IQ tournament and came home with several awards and another team qualification for the Hawaii State Championships in February 2016.  “Our teams, all sixth and seventh graders, competed with passion and pride throughout the tournament,” says Weyland Bailey, IPA Robotics Instructor.  

IPA sent three VEX IQ robotics teams to the September 26, 2015, competition in Wailuku on Maui.  This VEX IQ tournament was held at Baldwin High School and was one of the many events advertised as part of the Maui County Fair.

At the end of the day’s competition, Navigator Robotics Team 4442A consisting of veteran Nathan Okimoto (‘22) and new member Taylor Horita (‘22) brought home four trophies and a spot at the Hawaii State championships to be held at Pearlridge Shopping Center in February of 2016.

Team 4442C: Zaheer Gulko (‘22), William Angel (‘22), and Caleb Ceberano (’23)

  • Fourth place in the Tournament
