This year, the Grade 6 students used the design thinking process to create useful and creative solutions that addressed real-world problems for several organizations in the local and international community, including Wahiawa Botanical Garden, the Australian National Park Service, and Puʻuhonua O Waiʻanae.

It’s always good to spread aloha! That’s why IPA Elementary students showed their support for their community by creating cards and messages for the patients at some of our local hospitals who can’t receive patients because of COVID-19.

Change for Change – IPA Helps Australia

Two IPA sophomores knew they wanted to help when they saw the devastating wildfires in Australia earlier this year. They came up with the idea for a fundraiser called “Change for Change” to support the Australian National Parks Service. With the help of the IPA student body, they raised a lot of money to help the affected wildlife.

IPA Seniors Create “Quarantine Art Club – Color with Teens in Quarantine”

Three ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY seniors saw a need in the community and rose to the challenge in a creative and meaningful way. With the entire state of Hawai’i staying at home in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were inspired to help others spend their time creatively, so they created the Quarantine Art Club – a website with free, original coloring pages they create for anyone to download and enjoy.
