Elementary Color Fun-Run-a-Thon Raises $32,000 for Student Programs

ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY’s Elementary students laced up their running shoes and donned their class colors on Thursday, April 6, for a rainbow-colored, fun-filled morning at the inaugural Color Fun-Run-a-Thon. In the weeks leading up to the fundraiser, students collected pledges from family and friends for running as many laps as possible in 20 minutes around the obstacle-studded course. A little friendly competition kept things exciting, with individual medals for the most laps completed, a pizza party for the class with the most funds raised, and a free-dress day for the most spirited class.

The event raised about $32,000, which will help enhance the Elementary learning experience and expand their digital tools.

“We were overwhelmed by the sense of community created through this event and the enthusiasm and participation from our families, both volunteering and sending out pledges,” shared Samantha Hodesder, Elementary Principal. “We are eternally grateful to all our families, teachers, and supporters, and we’re excited for this to become an annual tradition.”
