IPA Valedictorian Featured in Community Magazine
IPA’s Class of 2015 Valedictorian, Jami Alamar, is featured in the June edition of Lokahi Lifestyle, a community magazine. Alamar, who enrolled at IPA in 2005 as a third grader, wrote the piece to share her reflections on the transition from high school to college student at an Ivy League school.

Alamar’s first college application brought a disappointing rejection. But she says it was a blessing in disguise, “Being rejected to my first choice school in December, I had to really consider what I wanted for my future and orient my college selection around that…in March, I was accepted to the school of my dreams: University of Pennsylvania.”
Alamar, who is fluent in Italian and Spanish, plans to major in political science and is contemplating a career in law. She is looking forward to the fall and her move to Philadelphia where she will begin the next part of her journey.
